Arrival by train and bus:

You can reach the Herzogstandbahn by public transport with Deutsche Bahn via Tutzing to Kochel and then continue with the RVO bus line 9608 Kochel - Garmisch-Partenkirchen (stop: Walchensee-Herzogstandbahn).

Arriving by car:

From Munich: Take the A95 motorway towards Garmisch Partenkirchen, exit at Kochel a. See and continue on the B11 to Walchensee.

From Innsbruck: Take the B2 via Mittenwald and Wallgau to Walchensee.
From Füssen: Toll-free via the B179 via Reutte, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Wallgau to Walchensee.
There is a large car park (subject to a charge) directly at the valley station of the Herzogstandbahn.

Overnight parking in all car parks in the valley station area is only permitted for guests of the Berggasthaus Herzogstand. We will impose a contractual penalty for violations of the overnight parking ban. We kindly ask you to use the designated parking spaces for motorhomes and campsites in the region for overnight stays. Thank you for your consideration towards the residents.
